Security

Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

[ John 14:1-4, NCV ]

It's just as well I won't need these, 'cos Heaven or not, I'd still lose them

Jesus Himself is building a home for me in heaven. But as I’m sure you will remember from your Bible, Jesus is a Carpenter, not a locksmith. HE provides all the security I need to know that I will be perfectly safe in heaven. I will not need to lock anything away. And you know what? I won’t be needing those preferred customer tags either – because I will automatically be a preferred customer EVERYWHERE! I CERTAINLY won’t be needing that Ace Hardware tag, ‘cos nothing will ever break or fall apart.

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

[ When the Roll is Called Up Yonder ]

Will you be there? Do you have the security of knowing for sure? Later today (or tomorrow… next week/month??? at the latest) I am going to share my personal testimony on my blog. I will describe how I came to know the One who is building a home for me in heaven. And if I can have that kind of security in my life, anyone can. So if you can’t imagine a day when you won’t be needing any keys or locks or whistling key fobs so that you can locate your keys when they relocate themselves from where you know you put them – come back later for the Good News!
